The same scoreline as last week gave the 1st's another 3 points.

It was important to start the game at pace this week, the opposition having been relegated last season still had lots of quality in their team. Saxon certainly controlled the game from the off and were deservedly leading through a well taken Matt Judge goal on the break.

Upol threatened but the defence looked solid and keeper Aidey pulled off some fine stops. The two flankers swapped sides and soon after Saxon broke away again with Stu Horton finding himself with just the keeper to beat, the keeper was on his rear as he watched Stu put the ball over his head.

Saxon then scored a third through a D.Harding and D.Morris combination but the ever reliable Upol linesman flagged another offside! This gave the away team fresh hope and within a few minutes they had scored.

Half time, saxon went in 2-1, however some players were getting frustrated with the play. The second half started with an early goal from the visitors from sloppy defending by Saxon. Upol looked like they had more in them but Saxon held firm and started to turn the game around.

Chris Smith came off injured and the substite, Joe Judge showed his quality when he went on a run from his own half after dispossesing a Upol player and then riding two sliding tackles, with the keeper to beat he buried the ball in the corner of the net, 3-2.

Saxon looked good and another fine strike from Matt Judge put the game beyond the visitors. A few hard tackles and fouls from the opposition wasn't enough to fase Saxon and the game ended 4-2. 6 points on the board.
